Newsletter: April 27, 2014

This was a busy week with lots going on. However, the highlight (and lowlight) was saying goodbye to Ms. Nozsa on Friday. She has been an amazing intern, teacher, and friend to us all. We celebrated her final day with a pizza lunch in our garden and later gave her a collection of books and teacher supplies as well as a book of advice we wrote for her.

Be kind and nice...Don't sit on a bench. Play with your kids at recess...Make learning fun...Read really great books...Love what you do...Know the kids' names...and so on.

Without doubt, Ms. Nozsa truly appreciated these words of wisdom. Afterward she had gifts for each of the kids - a book and a plant. We love Ms. Nozsa dearly and will miss her. But not too much because she'll be back for Splash Day and a few other events around CFI. Thanks to everyone who contributed to her gift! Here are a few more pics from her send-off...

This week we also said good-bye to another important part of our CFI community, the USC Tall Teachers. Thursday was our last session with them. The kids shared some of the writing they had been working on during the semester and then the Tall Teachers presented them with a gift - books written specifically for each child. They put so much time and effort into these books. It was a joy to see the smiles on the kids' faces. The Tall Teachers will be greatly missed! Here are some pics from their final day with the kids...

Oh...and we also sang at the Sparkleberry Fair on Saturday. If certainly does feel like the end of the year with so much going on. It's good to stay busy!

As always, thanks for all your support!

Chris
