1. Read each night.
2. On Tuesday the kids will bring home the picture books they have been writing and illustrating in class. These are due next Tuesday when we return from the three-day weekend. We've been working on them for about an hour a day over the past week. A few kids are completely finished, many have only a few pages left, and a handful have lots left to do. Please check in with your child to see what they have left to finish and help them make a plan for doing this over the next week. It is not something they can do all in one day.
Expectations for these books are...
* The story makes sense.
* The story has a beginning, middle, and end.
* The story is entertaining.
* The illustrations are carefully drawn.
* The coloring is carefully done and reflects the sorts of illustrations we notice in the picture books in our classroom.
* The handwriting is very neat and easy to read.
*All punctuation and capital letters are present.
3. Finish through Day 55 on the King's Chessboard
