Expert Project Homework for the Weekend

We've been hard at work on our biographies over the past two weeks. At this point, everyone in class has collected and sorted at least 37 facts about the person they are researching. This weekend they need to...

1. Make sure they have at least 40 facts written on post-it  notes and sorted onto their sheets (birth date and place, childhood, education, job, adulthood/family, etc).

2. Put their sheets into the order they think they'll need them to tell the story of their person's life. Today, many of them thought birth date and place should come first, childhood second, education third, and so on. There are no rules for this other than the requirement that it should make sense.

3. On each of the sheets they need to organize their post-it notes in the order they will write about them. What comes first? Second? Third?

4. Lastly, they need to share this with you so you can help them make any necessary revisions. Once you're okay with a page please sign your name in the bottom corner. They'll come back on Monday with your signature at the bottom of each and every one of their sheets.

If you notice any holes in their research (things they need to find out) please help them address this. I would predict they'll work alone for about 30 minutes this weekend and you'll need to spend about 20 minutes going over it all with them.

We'll use this on Monday to begin the process of writing our biographies. Thanks for your help. As always, I am working to make sure the vast majority of this project is completed in class because I know evenings and weekends can be awfully busy this time of year.
