Hey Everyone,
As our year begins to wind down there is still lots left to do in these last four weeks. In writing we are working to learn how to write each of the lower-case letters in cursive. The kids are so excited to learn to "write fancy"! In reading we are set to begin a literature study of Patricia MacLachlan's wonderful book Sarah, Plain and Tall. In math we've been exploring probability and soon will turn our attention to reading the analog clock (so hard!!!). And finally, in science we are enjoying everyone's motion experiment presentations.
As you know, last week we visited the Mann-Simons cottage. Our docents gave us a tour of the house, discussed briefly it's connection to segregation in the South, and taught the kids how archaeologists search for artifacts to learn more about the history of a place and its people. I forgot to bring my phone to school that day but a few of the parents were kind enough to send me photos from their phones. Here is a glimpse of what we were up to...
