On Monday we started talking about the Revolutionary War. To start, Mr. Hass asked us how we thought America started. We had to write what we thought in 10 minutes.
After 10 minutes, Mr. Hass gave us each a post it note and told us to write the number of how many words there were on our paper. The maximum number was 131, which was none other than Mr. Hass! The minimum was 19, but we're NOT calling names out.
Anyway, there was one little group that didn't get that much. Then there was also a group that had bigger numbers.
We all figured out about how many words each person wrote in a minute using division. So for the people who had 19 or 20.... 2 words a minute. Mr. Hass showed us how long a minute was. Boy, it was long! Some people couldn't believe how long it was!
But Mr. Hass said we'd do another one later on. At least there is another coming. We'll all have a chance to try to get more words and ideas on the paper.
