1. Read for at least 20 minutes each evening. There is no log this week.
2. Two-page math packet. This is due next Monday but can be turned in at any point.
3. On Friday the kids will bring home the plan sheet for our October 10th Gathering. They'll need to write out a script for their part of the Gathering and bring this back next Monday.
Also...as mentioned earlier in the year I don't feel the kids should be spending more than ten minutes or so in the evening on any homework assignment (I don't count reading as part of this total because it's just part of the nightly ritual). There is little-to-no research that shows a direct correlation between high amounts of homework and student learning and achievement. In fact, research shows that homework has little effect on most learning. Knowing this, I'd much rather the kids spend time playing outside or hanging out with you all than filling out endless worksheets. If anyone would like for their child to spend more time in the evening doing schoolwork you might try locating resources online. There's a ton of things to be found there. No one has asked about this but I wanted to throw it out there one more time in case anyone missed it the last time I mentioned it.
