Math Menu
On Monday for math we had a math menu. (Not the type at a restaurant.) Our two choices were Remainder and The Doorbell Rings..... Again?! Remainder is a game where you have 2 players, 15 blocks, 6 sheets of paper and a die. The first player rolls the die and whatever number they roll is the number of papers they get. The player tries to share all the blocks equally. If they can not share it equally, they have a remainder, which they keep as a point. Each player does the same thing until there are no more blocks, or you can not share them equally because there are more pieces of paper than there are blocks.
The Doorbell Rings... Again?! is where you fold a piece of paper into 8 squares. Then you make up a division story.
Example:
There were two kids that were sharing four lollipops.
Then you draw a picture that goes along with the story and also write a division problem that also goes along with the story. Like 4 divided by 2 = 2.
Dominique played Remainder and Marina played The Doorbell Rings.... Again!?
